Common Ground Interfaith Spiritual Center
Is a teaching-learning center where people bring their very souls
Where people grow one another by sharing what they know
Where people learn spiritual practices to support them in working with the complex possibilities of today’s world

Common Ground Interfaith Spiritual Center reaches out to the global community through its spiritual practice of conscious giving. Giving back to the world is an important aspect of the mission and vision of Common Ground. Many Orange County residents as well as children and families worldwide are in need throughout the year. Recent recipients of tithes from Common Ground include the following: Collette’s Children’s Home in Huntington Beach, which provides housing and services to homeless women and children; Think Together, an after school program located in Santa Ana dedicated to educationally at-risk youth in low income areas; Orange Coast Interfaith Shelter in Costa Mesa; Mary’s Kitchen, which is located in Orange and daily feeds the homeless, the unemployed and working poor; Seeds of Light, a South Africa AIDS project for children; and Irvine Animal Shelter.

Yes! Common Ground is in the flow of Spirit right now. Reverend Glenda and Reverend Judy are busy creating a safe and sacred place for gatherings and services to take place while visioning the future of this Shared Ministry. Together with its Advisory Team and congregants they will hold and bring forth the vibration of love and willingness to step into the unfolding plan of Spirit. They are in the process of discovering the richness of patterns that are being woven beneath the surface of this exciting time of spiritual renewal. They are open to seeing the whole picture and multiple ways of finding solutions and discovering new ideas. Jean Houston says, “These are the times and we are the people.” They say, ‘Yes’, to that call.

2005 Gandhi & King: A Season for Nonviolence

Compassionate Activism for Global Healing

Co-founded and Convened by the Association for Global New Thought

Common Ground has formed a Task Force supporting A Season for Nonviolence , January 30 - April 4, a national 64-day educational, media, and grassroots campaign dedicated to demonstrating that nonviolence is a powerful way to heal, transform, and empower our lives and our communities. Inspired by the 50th and 30th memorial anniversaries of Mahatma Gandhi and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., this international event honors their vision for an empowered, nonviolent world. Peace activities at Common Ground include weekly candle lighting and peace prayers, once a month Candlelight Peace Vespers and Spiritual Cinema for Peace. Sufism -
Transformation of the Heart

The true mystic goes in and out amongst the people and eats and sleeps with them and buys and sells in the market and marries and takes part in social intercourse and never forgets God for a single moment.
Abu Sa'id ibn Abi 'l-Khayr
