What is Reiki?
REIKI (pronounced Ray-Key) is a method of holistic healing based on the application of Universal Life Force Energy (the name Reiki literally means Universal Life Force Energy ).
It is a simple, natural healing technique that aids the body in releasing stress and tension by creating deep relaxation.
A Reiki treatment is like a warm, gentle radiance flowing through and around you, treating the body, mind, emotions and Spirit as a whole.
How is Reiki received?
A Reiki treatment is offered via a light, non-manipulative touch or with the practitioner's hands hovering inches over the body. The recipient is fully clothed and seated in a chair or reclining on a massage table.
Reiki is not sent to the recipient – the energy is drawn through the practitioner. It assists individuals with releasing energy blocks in their body as well as the connected emotions, which in turn helps the release of the causal level of dis-ease.
Each person individually draws to him/herself the appropriate amount of energy required. Reiki flows where it is needed and creates a healing condition necessary for the Higher Good of the individual receiving it.
What happens during a treatment?
During a Reiki session respiration slows and blood pressure lowers which typically results in an emotional calming. The recipient is in a state of relaxation and as the practitioner moves to areas over the body, the body releases stress and tension which promotes health and a state of wholeness. The practitioner's role is to simply provide a channel for the Spiritually guided Life Force Energy to work actively with the recipient.
