Evening Prayers on National Day of Prayer ~ Thursday, May 4 ~ 6:00 to 8:00 pm
In recognition of the National Day of Prayer, Common Ground invites you to set aside some quiet time at the end of the day for reflection, gratitude and grace.
Set an intention to call forth the power of prayer by joining with people of various faith traditions: Protestants, Catholics, Sikhs, Muslims, Hindus, and Jews to pray for our nation and its leaders.
Today, the state of our nation, the world, and human condition are very complex. Quiet prayer reminds us that the light, love, power and presence of the Divine are within and through every experience. Replace worry and fear with prayer.
For two hours in the evening, The Chapel on Common Ground will be open for contemplation and prayer. Have a cup of tea. Light a candle of hope, healing and blessing. Listen to the soft sounds of Taize. Come apart for a while. Stay as long as you like. Everyone is welcome and included.
Mother's Day Outreach Project for Ladies in Assisted Living ~ Sunday, May 7 ~ 12:30 to 1:30 pm
Common Ground is pleased to honor and remember ladies in a local assisted living facility by providing a small gift and loving message in time for Mother's Day.
Immediately following Sunday gathering, we will meet on the patio to create simple gifts and write 'love notes' for delivery to ladies who may not otherwise be remembered on Mother's Day.
Everyone is invited and encourage to participate in sharing kindness and love.
From Fear to Courage ~ Gathering with Judy and Glenda ~ Thursdays, Weekly, 1:00 to 2:00 pm
Judy and Glenda are pleased to facilitate a weekly gathering for anyone who is experiencing unresolved stress, sadness, loss, difficult changes, health challenges, or angst as a result of just being alive in today's world.
The intention of the gathering is to help identify and relieve feelings of isolation and sorrow that drain away joy and a sense of well being. Recognizing and embracing the causes of underlying anxiety go a long way to help confront them with mercy and acceptance that paves the way to healing; to recovering from loss and to reviving the heart.
*Note: This gathering in not psychological therapy/counseling or designed to address mental or emotional health issues for which the services of a mental health professional are needed. The scope of work within the gathering is specifically geared toward spiritual direction.
