In Residence at Common Ground 

Common Ground is privileged to include Dr. James Rietveld, a professor of Religion, Archaeology, and Antiquities from Claremont Graduate University’s School of Religion (PhD 2006), on its teaching staff.

His specialties include the History of Christianity in the Early, Medieval, and Byzantine periods and Greco-Roman religions. Also at Claremont, Rietveld minored in Islam and Hinduism. Rietveld received both his Bachelor of Arts and his Masters of Arts in History at California State University Fullerton in 1991 and 1998 respectively and a classical education in Greek and Latin from University of California Irvine from 1999-2001. Rietveld is currently teaching at California State University Long Beach. He has a passion for studies revolving around Asia Minor and his recently released book, Artemis of the Ephesians, focuses on the Goddess Artemis.

Dr. Rietveld presents lectures on a regular basis.  Lectures are geared toward sacred history and include elements of humor, wisdom and accessible intellect.

Common Ground is pleased to provide space for Dr. Barbara Fukuda to present her work in Reiki and Reflexology.  Barbara is a distinguished expert in the holistic field. She holds a Doctorate of Asian Metaphysics and is a faculty member of Art of Life Institute.

She is an Usui and Sacred Flames Reiki Master/Teacher, a Reflexology Professional and a State Certified Massage Practitioner. She teaches Reiki I, II, and Master Level at Common Ground.

She teaches Reiki classes and Meditation classes to Extraordinary Children and spreads the word of health on all levels of being (physical, emotional and spiritual) to her students and clients.
